A really worthwhile road trip
Bernard’s Big Trip was a project to donate and deliver a good
quality 4x4 to a charity based in the former Soviet Republic
of Tajikistan.
The organisation we chose to support was SWORDE-Teppa, a
small UK registered charity who only work in Tajikistan. We
then purchased a Land Rover Discovery, and drove it from
London, UK to Kurganteppa, Tajikistan, a distance of some
8,500km, over 6 weeks in the summer of 2009.
This website documents the project from inception to
completion, including the preparation, adventures and
mishaps on the way, statistics, route maps and more. And, of
course, a small selection of the hundreds of photographs we
took during the trip.
